Four years in the preparation, Operation Overlord, the Allied invasion of Normandy on 6 June 1944, marked the beginning of the end of World War II and the eventual liberation of Europe.

The D-Day Museum and the City of Portsmouth will be marking the 60th anniversary of the Normandy Landings with a series of special events and exhibitions. We are working closely with the City of Caen to commemorate the anniversary.
