Please be aware that there is a 50% discount for Portsmouth Library Card holders at the D-Day Museum. This will operate from 1 December 2011 until 10 February 2012 inclusive. Please bring your library card with you when you visit. Discount applies to library card holders only.

* Last entry to the D-Day Museum is 30 minutes before closing time.
We suggest you allow 1.5 to 2 hours in total for your visit to the museum.

Parking
Car and coach pay and display parking is available near the museum, including in the D-Day Museum car park, and on Clarence Esplanade and the Avenue de Caen.

Travelling by public transport
The D-Day Museum is roughly the same distance from both Portsmouth Harbour, and Portsmouth & Southsea train stations. There are taxi ranks at both stations, or else you can catch the No.700 bus from Portsmouth Harbour station, or the No.19 bus from near Portsmouth & Southsea station. Catering
The D-Day Museum's cafe is now closed for the winter season. During the summer, the cafe serves a selection of food, hot meals, sandwiches, cakes, snacks and drinks.

Shop
Items dealing mainly with the social history of World War II and the D-Day campaign. Extensive souvenir collection depicts the 'Overlord Embroidery', gifts, videos, postcards and an extensive military book collection.

Price Information
Children aged seventeen years and under are free when accompanied with a full paying adult.
Concessions for senior citizens, children, students, families and UB40 holders. See Museums' Visitor Information page.

Southwick House

At the time of D-Day, the Allied commanders met at Southwick House, just outside Portsmouth. Southwick House and its famous D-Day wall map can be visited by prior arrangement (appointments are necessary as it is on a military base). To visit Southwick House, please contact the Station Commander's PA on 023 9228 4601, or the curator of the Royal Military Police Museum which is adjacent to it (tel. 023 9228 4372). The D-Day Museum is not responsible for visits to Southwick House.
